    Description

    Benjamin Harrison (1833 - 1901), American politician and lawyer who served as the 23rd President of the United States from 1889 to 1893.
    During the American Civil War, Harrison served in the Union Army as a colonel, and on February 14, 1865, was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as a brevet brigadier general of volunteers, effective January 23, 1865. Harrison also served in the U.S. Senate from 1881 to 1887.
    A check, signed by Benjamin Harrison, dated Feby. 3rd, 1873, with a Two Cents U.S. Internal Revenue stamp.
    The check is folded, and discolored/soiled. There are a few small nicks along the top edge, and a canceling press cut in the center of the check. There is also an embossed bank stamp on the reverse.
    The signed check comes from the archives of the noted Raab Collection. A Raab Collection Letter of Authenticity will be provided.
